Food - Review : Dusseldorf and Koln

One of european's most famous tradition are Christmas markets. There are several, everywhere: As you know I live in Rome, and here we have the very famous Piazza Navona Christmas Market.
This year I wanted to try other markets in Europe: so my girlfriend and I bought a ticket with Ryanair for Germany: Dusseldorf and Koln (Colonia) (40€ roundtrip)

but my blog is a Food-Blog so...
Here's some wonderful foods I've tried at Dusseldorf and Koln Christmas Market.

2 wonderful "panini" ("sandwich") With a very big sausage and roasted pork-knee

This is Pork!! Roasting with strong flame that makes the skin crunchy, so tasty!!

I've to say that German cookers are very good in Soup-Preparing: Vegatable soup, very good!

There are thousands of stalls full of sweets, biscuit, etc, etc.

Waffel with jam, very very soft and delicious

In a supermarket we found this Marsh Mallow Chocolate, so amazing!

Cake with white chocolate and poppy seeds

Potatoes mixture fried, with curry-ketchup or apple sauce

Very good Champignon-mushrooms, with a tasty cream

Fried Camembert , with raspberry jam, very very very good!!!

our Breakfast: Sanditches with smoked salmon and wonderfoul German cheeses

In Germany, bread is really really tasty and there are several types. Here you can see also Pretzel, a typical German bakery product, probably the most famous.

Fried Krapfen (filled with cream or jam)

This is a Typical East-Europe bakery product: I don't know exactly the name, but we foudn it also in Budapest and Prague: It's soft inside and crunchy outside, thanks to sugar and spices like Cinnamon or ginger.

Caramelized Almonds: you can choose caramel taste betweend lots of flavors (we chose cinnamon)

This is a very uncommon sweet for us: it's called STUMPFNUDELN : it's a warm and soft "brioche" bal, covedere with hot vanilla cream and red fruits jam. Probably the best sweet we have eaten here!

We've eaten wonderfully: everything we tried was tasty and....YUMMY!!! Foods and smells contribute very strongly in Christmas atmosphere creation and here, in Germany, they know very well how to do it!!
